More Than 30 Years of Progressive Grassroots Democratic Politics

CFD is an official Democratic Club on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Founded in 1969, CFD emerged out of both the anti-war movement and the 1960's reform movement within the Democratic Party.

Several current New York City political leaders, such as U.S. Representative Jerry Nadler and State Assemblymember Dick Gottfried, helped create CFD as a progressive community engaged in genuine grassroots politics. Other local elected officials, such as State Senator Eric Schneiderman and Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, are longtime CFD members who began their political careers in the club.

Over the course of the last 30 years, hundreds of CFD members have produced real results on progressive issues in our neighborhood, city, state, and nation.

Join our team of Democratic activists and work with your neighbors to make a positive difference. We are deeply concerned with the issues of today. Please drop by our next meeting.
