Hit the streets with CFD for
Stringer for Comptroller and Landis for City Council!

May has arrived, finally bringing with it the sunny days and spring weather we've looked forward to throughout the long, grey winter.

Your friends at Community Free Democrats are hitting the streets
and we'd like you to join us!

We'll be tabling at Upper West Side street fairs this month.  As you know, CFD uses these events to distribute important literature about voting, about our club, about the issues we care about, and about the great progressive candidates we endorse for public office, like Marc Landis for City Council and Scott Stringer for Comptroller..

We'll be staffing a table at street fairs in our neighborhood from approximately
11 am to 3 pm on the following days:

Sunday 5/19
Sunday 5/26

Are you available to join us on any of these dates? If so, please e-mail our VP of Membership, Audrey Isaacs, at membership@cfdnyc.org, and let us know the date you're available.  We'll follow up with a preferred time slot.

We hope you can join us for a few hours on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon in May!

CFD District Leaders Release Blueprint for Election Administration Reforms

CFD District Leaders Release Blueprint for Election Administration ReformsDuring the Presidential Election, the voting experience of hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers was tarnished by huge lines, jammed ballot scanners, chaotic poll sites, and unqualified poll workers.

We have been vigorously advocating for reforms in the wake of this difficult election. And as part of our advocacy effort we are releasing a report title "End Election Day Chaos: Fix New York's Voting Procedures." This report outlines common sense on-the-ground improvements that can be made to improve the administration of poll sites in our city.

This report complements the other work we have done on election reform. Late last year we sponsored a petition advocating for reforms at the state level. This petition, signed by more than 650 Upper West Siders, seeks to institute early voting, "no excuse" absentee ballots, same-day voter registration, and non-partisan election administration.

The contents of this report, the petition signatures we gathered, and our testimony have already been delivered at the New York City Council Committee on Government Operations, chaired by Councilmember Gale Brewer.

If you have any questions, comments, or additional ideas feel free to contact nprigo@gmail.com and let us know what you think.

Regards,
Marc Landis, Joan Paylo and Nick Prigo
