Stephanie Pinto is a native Manhattanite. She joined CFD around 1980 and is currently Co-President. Her entire professional career has been spent in both the political arena (Jerry Nadler and Jay Goldin) and in the not for profit arena working on issues ranging from drug rehabilitation, access to health care, transportation, recycling, energy conservation and women’s issues to name a few. She plans to work diligently in 2020 to help ensure that Democrats take the White House and Senate, and keep the House.
Michelle Kinney is a life-long New Yorker. Born and raised in Watertown, New York, she is a graduate of Syracuse University, and has called Manhattan her forever home since 2004. After her involvement with Manhattan Young Democrats, Michelle was inspired to join CFD in the aftermath of the 2016 Presidential Election. Women’s rights, LGBTQ equality, voting rights, and labor rights continue to be paramount issues for her.
A former professional singer and actress for more than 10 years, she now owns and operates Michelle Kinney Photography est. 2011. Recent work : NowThis News, Mic.com, The Advocate Magazine, Washingtonian Bride and Groom, Time Out New York, and OUT Magazine. She is also the Founder and President of Nasty Women of New York, a photography project designed to tell the stories of New York women.
Michelle Kinney currently serves on the New York County Democratic Committee in the 69th Assembly District (Part B), and resides on the Upper West Side with her husband, Joseph Urso, and their two cats.
Joe Dalven has been an active member of Community Free Democrats for 3 years. Upon returning to New York City after a 40 year absence, Mr. Dalven currently serves CFD as Vice President for Membership, as well as Judicial Delegate. He has also been active in organizing phone banks for the last several state and national elections, petitioning, as well as voter registration
Mr. Dalven’s background includes engineering and project management for DoD, NASA, and public safety in Ohio, Maryland, and New York City.

Robert Gottheim has been a member of CFD since 1998, currently serving as Treasurer. He is a graduate of Binghamton U (SUNY) & Brooklyn Law School, and went on to practice law with the firm O’Dwyer and Bernstein. He has worked for Congressman Nadler since 1998, and currently serves as his District Director. Since 1997, Mr. Gottheim has been Counsel for Nadler for Congress, handling all campaign finances & compliance issues with the FEC. Additionally, he serves as Treasurer for Linda Rosenthal and Scott Stringer. He has worked on numerous campaigns — Stringer, Nadler,, Rosenthal, and others in the metro area.
Irene Dess has been a member of the Community Free Democratic Club for ten years, a Board Member for seven years, and Recording Secretary for five. She has also been a member of the New York County Democratic Committee for seven years, and served as a Judicial Delegate five times including the present. She is presently retired, having worked for 40 years in the fields of social services and public welfare.
